2016 Bay Boat Club Operating Rules

ALL MEMBERS AND GUESTS OF THE BAY BOAT CLUB (BBC) ARE SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING RULES AND REGULATIONS. MEMBERS, REGARDLESS OF MEMBERSHIP STATUS, ARE OBLIGATED TO READ AND TO FOLLOW THESE RULES AND REGULATIONS. FAILURE TO DO SO SHALL BE SUBJECT TO IMMEDIATE REVIEW BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES AND MAY CAUSE LOSS OF MEMBERSHIP.
Members must accompany their guests and shall be accountable for their actions and behavior.
No guest watercraft is permitted except by prior arrangement (each time) with the Commodore or Vice Commodore.
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHALL A MEMBER ALLOW A NONMEMBER TO USE HIS/HER CARD OR DUPLICATE THE CLUB ACCESS KEY.
All members are required to notify the Membership Officer of any new watercraft that will be used at the BBC. Current BBC registration stickers are required for each watercraft using Club facilities. The sticker shall be affixed to the left side of the trailer tongue. If a member’s watercraft(s) is a self-propelled vessel,the sticker shall be affixed to the left rear window of the vehicle used to transport same; or if a vessel is stored at the BBC, a sticker must be affixed to vessel in a highly visible location.
THE RULES FOR LAUNCHING WHEN OTHERS ARE WAITING IS ONE BOAT IN,ONE BOAT OUT. This means that the second vessel waiting to launch allows one vessel recovery before blocking the ramp. Conversely, the second vessel waiting recovery allows a vessel to launch before blocking the dock area. IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY (INCLEMENT WEATHER, BREAKDOWNS, MEDICAL EMERGENCY, BOAT IN TOW,ETC.), THE RECOVERING VESSEL SHALL HAVE THE RIGHT-OF-WAY.
ALL SET UP FOR LAUNCH MUST BE COMPLETED IN THE DESIGNATED AREAS SOUTH, EAST,AND NORTHEAST OF THE CLUBHOUSE, NOT ON THE RAMPS OR ON THE APPROACHES TO THE RAMPS.
ALL RECOVERY ACTIVITIES/TIE DOWN SHALL BE DONE TO THE SOUTH OF THE CLUBHOUSE.
All watercraft under power,including jet skis and boats, MUST observe an idle zone off the BBC when SOUTH of the tip of the jetty located to the WEST. This area is approximately 100 feet NORTH of the dock. Water skiing from the BBC shall be in accordance with all Ohio regulations. Under no circumstances shall water skiing be permitted within the idle zone.
Watercraft are not to be tied up while waiting for passengers, while giving instructions in the handling of craft, and while loading non-essential gear. At no time should a watercraft be tied up and unattended.
Each member has an obligation to help keep the grounds clean.
Swimming is not permitted within 50 feet of the dock. There will be no skateboarding, bicycling, swimming, diving, or other non-boating related activities permitted on or from the dock. Fishing is prohibited when watercraft are in the idle zone.
Pets must be on a leash,and must be kept at least 50 feet from the dock. Owners must clean up after pets. (City Ordinance 505.13)
It is the responsibility of each BBC member to ensure that his/her watercraft(s) meet all State of Ohio and Coast Guard regulations. An operator of any watercraft is legally responsible as a captain for his/ her actions, and for that of his/her crew, guests and passengers.
In accordance with the CAHOON WILL, no boating,bathing, or organized sports shall be permitted on Sundays. In addition, no alcoholic beverages shall be consumed on BBC property at any time.
Parking along the WEST and EAST side of the BBC property is reserved for vehicles with trailers. Trailered vehicles will have priority parking over all other vehicles. Single vehicles (without trailers) shall park in areas that cannot accommodate vehicle/trailer combinations.
Boat/trailer combinations shall be limited to a maximum gross weight of 8,000 pounds, or 5,000 pounds for single axles.
All facilities shall be locked after use.
Any damage or vandalism to the BBC property shall be repaired,replaced or reimbursed by the person(s) responsible.
The BBC facilities shall not be used for commercial purposes (i.e. dealer demonstrations of watercraft for sale, fishing charters, etc).
DEFINITION: A WATERCRAFT IS ANY VESSEL THAT MAY OR MAY NOT REQUIRE A STATE REGISTRATION NUMBER AND DECAL. THIS MAY INCLUDE POWER BOATS OF ANY LENGTH, SAILBOATS OF ANY LENGTH,INFLATABLES, ROW BOATS, PERSONAL WATERCRAFTS (JET-SKIS), KAYAKS, CANOES,AND SAIL, PADDLE, WIND SURF, KNEEL AND SURF BOARDS (EVEN THOUGH THEY MAY NOT NEED STATE REGISTRATION)
COMMON SENSE REMINDERS FOR ALL MEMBERS: Please be prompt when you launch or recover your boat. Do not tie up ramps or dock for extended periods of time. Please be courteous to your fellow boaters
THE BBC INCURS NO LIABILITY FOR ANY DAMAGE TO ANY PERSONAL PROPERTY OF A MEMBER AND/OR GUESTS, OR ANY INJURY OF ANY TYPE, KNOWN OR UNKNOWN, TO SAID MEMBER AND/OR GUESTS WHILE USING ALL CLUB FACILITIES. USE OF THESE FACILITIES IS AT A MEMBER’S AND/OR GUEST’S OWN RISK.
